Our videos have been designed to teach a range of skills for people with learning disabilities. These skills will help them to meet their individual goals, connect with others and lead a more fulfilled life.
Our learning direction is simple. We start with key points, an explanation of why these points are important, a prompt for interaction, an example and a recap, to embed the skill.
Each key topic is broken into levels, with each level building on the last. As learners progress, they revisit earlier ideas and see how they apply in real life. Understanding the "why" behind actions helps the skill stick.
At intervals throughout each video, the narrator will prompt the viewer to stop the video and to think about the concept. This can be done as part of a group discussion, or as an individual. This will encourage interaction and engagement and promote learning.
Our videos are set in familiar settings the viewer will experience, going to the shops, going to dinner, and moving around in the community. In addition we focus on skills required to progress into adulthood, such as using public transport, looking for a job and attending an interview! All of our videos use language our viewers can copy to achieve goals in their daily lives!
in addition to our suite of videos covering many aspects of daily life, we can also create fully customised videos to address individual behavioural difficulties. Sometimes applying a skill can be challenging but with the support of a video that can be played repeatedly, the concept can be better assimilated.
